Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

jumping dolphin-thankful

Thankful, grateful, appreciative–these are all words to describe how we should be as followers of Christ and to have a life of joy and peace. Think on the good and beautiful of your life, of the people around you and of the world and you’ll find life, people and the world look a little better every day. It’s an intentional training of the mind to be thankful and to stop entertaining negative thoughts of complaints and bitterness. What you focus on grows, so you’re best to focus on the blessings and the great God you have!

  • A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. – Psalm 100:1-5
  • We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, – 1 Thessalonians 1:2
