Parenting is hard, but when you can take on all aspects of raising a child (like their education) parenting actually gets easier. That’s what homeschool mom’s Christine and Steph have experienced. Consider some of the perspectives these women have to build strong connections and influence in your children’s lives.
Talking Points
- You know your kids, you know their strengths and weaknesses
- God has entrusted parents with the unique role of shaping their children’s character and worldview.
- Things to ponder:
- How our kids process life challenges with/without our guidance: “Think about how often your kids ask, ‘Why?’ or want to share something they learned. That’s a chance to instill truth and wisdom.”
- Talk about homeschooling/teaching at home as one option for being deeply involved in raising our kids. Watch your kids grow.
- Other ways parents can stay involved, regardless of their schooling choice:
- Regular family devotions, intentionally encouraging.
- Intentional conversations about their day, what they are learning
- Making time for shared activities.
Scriptures
- Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go…”)
- “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing”. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
